Batman is perhaps

Batman is perhaps one of the most beloved and enduring fictional heroes in American popular culture. While only a small number of people actually follow the Batman comic series, one would be hard pressed to find a person who does not know about Batman. He has had been in many different forms of media, but has always been fluid enough to remain recognisable as “Batman” since his origins over seventy years ago. However Batman has also had to change and adapt not only to suit his medium, but to suit the changing culture and values of his audience.

The Entrance Into the World of Braid

So I have started playing Braid. The game opens with a very dark scene. Under the large golden title in a dull orange and brown city 2-dimensional was a black bridge. At first I did not see the sprite because he was presented a black figure blending in with the foreground. Once I figured out where he was I walked the only available direction right. The violin played in a minor key was fitting for the portrayed set. It created an empty and curious atmosphere. Since ive seen the vivacious video game, the world I was thrown into was very peculiar; I believe it could be a foreshadowing.

I'm Braiding. Anyone want their hair did?

So I have decided the video game Braid for my glog entries. If you fellow vgc members remember we were shown this game during a lecture. It is a platform game, meaning it is characterized by requiring the player to jump over obstacles and overcome puzzles. I personally was never a “platformer” but more of a first-person shooter. The thing that caught my attention was the games music, adventure, and intriguing set displayed.

V.A.T.S: Very Awesome Theatrical Shooting

In this gaming log, I am going to detail the system that makes Fallout what it is: the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System, or V.A.T.S.  Inspired partly by the ability to shoot specific body parts in the turn-based combat system of the previous Fallout games, V.A.T.S pauses the otherwise real-time combat system to allow the gamer to specify where on their enemy they want to shoot.  When using V.A.T.S.

I Forgot to Remember to Forget

Since I have mentioned him in quite a few of my gaming logs up to this point, I figured I would detail exactly how I acquired my companion and best-bud, Boone.

Crazy, Crazy, Crazy

In this gaming log, I’m just going to describe one of the quests I completely recently, called “Crazy, Crazy, Crazy.”  Basically, a super mutant named Neil approached me and automatically started a dialogue with me, saying that a super mutant named Tabitha has taken over Black Mountain. One of her rules is that no humans are welcome to the area and any that approach should be shot on sight.  I assumed he wanted me to kill her (super mutants aren’t exactly easy to understand), so I headed up the mountain to start the quest.

With a Little Help From My Friends

Companions play a major role in the Fallout series, arguably more so in Fallout: New Vegas than any of the previous titles.  A companion is a permanent follower that you recruit to aid you in certain scenarios- be it combat, picking locks, or hacking computer terminals.  In Fallout 3, companions would only join you if you had a certain karma requirement (evil companions wouldn’t follow you if you had good karma, and vice versa), but this was eliminated in Fallout: New Vegas.  Instead, in New Vegas, each character has their own little nuances about them.  For instance, Boone kills Casesar’s
